Chaillon is een gemeente in het Franse departement Meuse in de regio Grand Est en maakt deel uit van het arrondissement Commercy. De gemeente telde 110 inwoners op 1 januari 2023.[2]
Geschiedenis
Chaillon maakte tot 2015 deel uit van het kanton Vigneulles-lès-Hattonchâtel. Toen het kanton op 22 maart 2015 werd opgeheven werden gemeenten ervan opgenomen in het op die dag gevormde kanton Saint-Mihiel.[3]
Geografie
De oppervlakte van Chaillon bedraagt 11,54 vierkante kilometer. Op 1 januari 2023 was de bevolkingsdichtheid 9,5 inwoners per km².
Mottekasteel
De reste van het mottekasteel, gelegen in het uiterste westen van de gemeente, is sinds 3 december 1990 ingeschreven als historische monument.[4]
