NGC 4 (ook wel PGC 212468) is een lensvormig sterrenstelsel in het sterrenbeeld Vissen.

NGC 4 werd op 29 november 1864 ontdekt door de Duitse astronoom Albert Marth.

NGC 4 vormt samen met de eveneens door Albert Marth ontdekte sterrenstelsels NGC 3, NGC 7834, NGC 7835, NGC 7837, NGC 7838, en NGC 7840 vanaf de aarde gezien een groep, een graad ten oosten van de ster 32 Piscium.

TYC 594-584-1

Vanaf de aarde gezien bevindt het stelsel NGC 4 zich net ten westen van de ster TYC 594-584-1. Amateurastronomen kunnen deze ster aanwenden als gidsobject om op zoek te gaan naar NGC 4.

De online fotografische sterrenatlas Wikisky toont in plaats van het sterrenstelsel NGC 4 een ander object (PGC 620) dat als NGC 4 vermeld is, met de coordinaten 0h 08m / +8° 07'.
