Intratec — американская компания, производитель огнестрельного оружия. Наиболее известным продуктом компании является самозарядный пистолет Tec-9 Компания прекратила своё существование в 2001 году.[1]

История

Intratec была основана как предприятие шведского оружейного производителя Interdynamic AB и изначально носила название Interdynamic USA[2]Причиной создания американского филиала стало отсутствие конкурентного рынка для стрелкового оружия в Швеции

После ухода из компании Джорджа Келлгрена компания была переименована в Intratec, а управление перешло к Карлосу Гарсии.[3]

Продукция

Наиболее известной продукцией Intratec стал пистолет tec-9. Всего было выпущено 250000 экземпляров.[4]

Криминальная известность

В 1990-е годы TEC-9 приобрел дурную славу, из-за частого использования в уличной преступности и массовых расстрелов. Это привело к судебным искам против компании и ужесточению законодательства в ряде штатов. В 2001 году компания intratec закрылась.[5]
