Ekuipazhi i Apollo 11: (Nga e majta në të djathtë) Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin dhe Michael Collins

Programi Apollo ishte programi i tretë hapësinor i NASA-s. Sipas fjalës së ish-presidentit programi ishte dërgimi njëriut në Hënë dhe kthimi i tij në Tokë me sukses. Kjo u realizua kur në 20 korrik 1969 me misionin Apollo 11. Astronauti Neil Armstrong ishte njeriu i parë që preku sipërfaqen e Hënës së bashku me astronautin Buzz Aldrin. Astronauti i tretë i këtij misioni ishte Michael Collins, i cili qëndroi në orbitën e Hënës.
