The Laguna 18 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim. It has a fractionalsloop rig, a raked stem, a plumb transom, a transom-hung rudder controlled by a tiller and a fixed fin keel. It displaces 1,500 lb (680 kg) and carries 500 lb (227 kg) of ballast.[1][2]
An open cockpit version was also produced for daysailing.[1][2]
The boat has a draft of 2.25 ft (0.69 m) with the standard shoal draft keel, is normally fitted with a small outboard motor for docking and maneuvering and may be equipped with a series of jibs or genoas.[1][2]
The design has sleeping accommodation for four people, with a double "V"-berth in the bow cabin and two aft quarter berths under the cockpit.[1][2]
The boat has a hull speed of 5.13 kn (9.50 km/h).[2]
