Slijp (Fries: Slyp) is een voormalige buurtschap in de gemeente Súdwest-Fryslân, in de Nederlandse provincie Friesland ten zuidwesten van Roodhuis. In Slijp stonden één of twee boerderijen, waarvan er nog een over is met de naam Op 't Slyp. Net als Roodhuis viel Slijp tot 1955 onder Oosterend.
Geschiedenis
De boerenplaats werd in 1500 vermeld als Slipstera gueden en bestond toen waarschijnlijk uit twee boerderijen. In 1503 werd het vermeld als ter Slippa en in 1511 wordt er vermeld dat er iemand Opper Slyppe woont. In de 18e en 19e eeuw wordt de plaats vermeld als Slyp en in 19e eeuw en 20ste eeuw als Slijp.
De weg waaraan de buurtschap lag heet eveneens Slyp en loopt aan de overkant van de Franekervaart verder tot aan de Slijpstervaart.
