Ang Basaluzzo ay isang comune (komuna o munisipalidad) sa Lalawigan ng Alessandria, rehiyon ng Piamonte, hilagang Italya, na matatagpuan mga 90 kilometro (56 mi) timog-silangan ng Turin at mga 20 kilometro (12 mi) timog-silangan ng Alessandria.
May hangganan ang Basaluzzo sa mga sumusunod na munisipalidad: Bosco Marengo, Capriata d'Orba, Francavilla Bisio, Fresonara, Novi Ligure, Pasturana, at Predosa.
Pinagmulan ng pangalan
Ang pangalan ng bayan ay malamang na nagmula sa Basiligutia, upang ipahiwatig ang pagkakaroon ng isang basilika sa malapit. Ayon sa iba, ang pangalan ay dapat na maiuugat pabalik sa Bis lucum, "sa gitna ng kakahuyan".
Kasaysayan
Binanggit sa isang diploma na itinayo noong 981, kung saan ipinagkaloob ito ng emperador na si Oton II bilang isang fief sa monasteryo ng San Salvatore di Pavia. Binanggit pa rin ito sa dalawang iba pang mga dokumento: isa mula sa 1000 at isa pa mula sa 1002, na nilagdaan ni Oton III at Arduino d'Ivrea, na nagpapatunay sa nakaraang pagbebenta.
