Si Intef I ang lokal na pinunong Ehipsiyon sa Thebes, Ehipto at isang kasapi ng Ikalabingisang Dinastiya ng Ehipto noong Unang Pagitang Panahon. Siya ang una sa kanyang dinastiya na gumamit ng pamagat na Paraon na may pangalang Horus na Sehertawy, ('Siya na nagdala ng kapayaan sa Dalawang mga Lupain').[2] Siya ang anak ni Mentuhotep I at Neferu I. Ang kanyang kapangyarihan ay tinutulan ng ibang mga nomarko ng Ehipto na pangunahin sa mga ito ang Ikasampung Dinastiya ng Ehipto sa Herakleopolis Magna at Ankhtifi na mahusay na kilala nomarko ng Hierakonpolis na matapat na tagasunod ng dinastiyang Heraklepolitano.[3] Sa kanyang paghalili sa trono, si Intef ay malamang na namuno na kaunting higit sa mga palibot na lugar ng kanyang kabisera ngunit nagkamit ng kontrol sa Koptos, Dendera, at ang tatlong mga nomes ng Hierakonpolis sa wakas ng kanyang paghahari pagkatapos na maliwanag na manalo kay Ankhtifi o sa kahalili ng nomarkong ito.[2]
